SHELL PROMPT

Help!
I wanted to change my linux prompt and I added these 2 lines
PS1="[\u@home \W]\$"
export PS1
in my .bash_profile but it doesn't recognize them at all... Help!

Try to insert them to .bashrc

Thanks! It works fine now... However, when I send out an email using the "mail" command, my hostname still appears after "@" in my email address. Is there any way that I can change that too?

Thanks again! I realized that this change is only local and has nothing to do with  my hostname...
