Standard DB component versus IB DB components

I'm using an interbase back end and want to know if there are any drawbacks to using the IB components as opposed to staying with the standard ones. I want to use the IB events component, especially. Anyone have any thoughts?

I would like to say that there is not any drawbacks to using the IB components as opposed to staying with the standard ones. There is only differences in the way of usage as new components (as TIBTransaction and all of "InterBase Admin" components) and new properties as (IBDataBase.DefaultTransaction, IBQuery.Transaction, IBTable.Transaction....).
My opinion is that using the IB components you have more power to build in your applications BackUp and Restore process for your Interbase (and FireBird) databases.
I like IB components and I am using them !
My advice is save a copy of your old application and try to convert it using IB components. If it becomes successful you will be lucky new user of IB components !

Thanks esoftbg. I only asked the question because a senior developer I once worked with declared them as "toothless" and inefficient. We were using Delphi 3 at the time. Hmm.

I'm using Delphi 5 now, and I think there are a lot more components to choose from for all kinds of purposes. It's good to know they're effective enough.
