Outlook 2002 POP3 and Exchange accounts coexisting

Recently, we setup a VPN for our users who are away from
the office most of the time. The problem we have run into
is most of these users have Outlook 2002 and have it set
up for just POP3 accounts (Before the VPN Exchange access
was provided through OWA). Now when we add the Exchange
account to Outlook, we can only set the mail to be
delivered to either the Personal Folder, or the Exchange
mailbox for both accounts. We want to have the POP3
account continue to drop its mail in the Personal Folder
as it did before, and have the Exchange account drop its
mail in the Exchange mailbox, as it does on our internal
network. Is there any way to set this up. As it stands
now, if we set the mail deliver on Outlook to the Exch
mailbox, the POP3 email gets dropped in there too, taking
up space on our server. If we set the deliver to the
Personal Folder, then the exchange email is taken from our
server. We need to keep all mail that goes to our exchange
server, on the server. We would like to avoid setting up seperate profiles for each account, if possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

A possible workaround for this would be to allow all E-mail to be delivered to the exchange folder and then set-up a rule that automatically copys the POP3 e-mail to the user's personal folder and then removes it from the exchange mailbox.
