I have Exchange 2000 server installed on the LAN.  Clients use Outlook 2000.  It is possible for internal clients to retract emails sent to other internal clients?  I know this is not possible if you sent email to an outside domain.  However, emails sent to internal clients are kept on the Exchange server.  Is there an option to retract that email?  Thanks.

Hello speedway,

you could try a recall

-in your sent items folder.
-open the message yu want to recall
-under the actions menu, you can select [Recall This Message]

You have a couple of scenarios that might happen though.
1.  The recall works and no one ever reads your message (the ideal situation...doesn't usually happen)
2.  Some people have read your message and they get a message stating that you want to recall the message.  The copy of the message they had might
disappear from their inbox...might not
3.  Some people may not have read your message, but they have their inbox open when you issue the recall so they see that you want to recall the message.  If they are fast enough, they may be able to read your original message before the recall takes place.

so be aware that this process is never foolproof

Thanks for the quick answer.  You're right about the process.  Just tested.  Even if the messge hasn't been read, it can take a while to get recalled, or if the recall fails, you might not know till a month later.  Looks like a pretty useless feature.

if you need it foolproof then indeed it is just like the send receipt notif that can be sent or not by the receiving party .... it only works when everyone is playing along

thanks for the grade
