Roxio CD Creator - Soundstream Issue

Hello,
I'm running XP PR0 with CD Creator 5.3.4.21 and I am attempting to use Soundstream to copy a CD.  I have had no issues with this in the past on W2KPro.  First of all, when I go through the process of identifying the CD I am copying and the CD I am copying to in the Soundstream, "select source" and "select destination" window, below the destination window in RED is says, "Space required, 14 tracks 51.01.  CD is finalized, insert unfinalized CD."  Well the CD-R is right out of the box. Then when I attempt to record I get a dialog box "you have inserted the source CD into the recorder. The tracks will now be copied to your hard drive".  (this is new...I have not seen this reference to my hard drive before) Then, 51% through the preparing stage I get a dialog box stating that there is 0 space on the CD I entered, please insert a CD with at least 51.01 space available.
I have tried three different CD's.  What the heck am I doing wrong here. Again, no problems on my W2K PC?
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!
Doreen

Hi baldridged.

Sorry for the late reply.

There was a bug issue with CD Creator and Win XP for a long time. (Win2k was not affected)

You have to patch your Rixio CD Creator to make it work for Win XP.

Updates Easy CD Creator 5.x.x Platinum to 5.3.4
-----------------------------------------------
This web update is designed to update Easy CD Creator 5.x.x Platinum to version 5.3.4. It can be installed in Windows NT, 98, 2000, ME, and XP. It has a number of fixes and adds new drive support, including support for DVD -R/RW and DVD +R/RW. This update will install Windows XP specific drivers and make the necessary registry entries to allow Easy CD Creator to operate correctly in Windows XP.

If it doesn't work.

Have you tried it on other CD medias? You may have a faulty batch of similar CDs. Borrow a piece of different CD brand from a friend and try again.

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

Thank you...exhausted all the above options to no avail. :(

This is just plain odd.  Any other thoughts?

Thanks so much,
