Whenever I attempt to install MySQL on my Windows XP, an error message appears saying that InstallShield Engine had caused an error and need to terminate. I checked the detail and it is _ins5176._mp file that cause the problem. I deleted files inside "temp" folder as suggested by many other websites but no luck. I am very sure that the installtion files are not corrupted since I can unzip them.

Any help would be grateful. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon.

I had finally found the solution. It is due to my system language which is Chinese (PRC) (and perhaps that is the reason why I saw many chinese having this problem as well).

Switching it back to English (US) solved the problem.
