People,

Someone can prevent me doing some serious damage to my laptop which will occur
When I throw it out of the window

I’m having a problem with the JavaScript Window.open command.
The actual code I’m using is

function nWin(mypage, myname, w, h, scroll)
{
var winl = (screen.width - w) / 2;
var wint = (screen.height - h) / 2;
var winprops = 'height='+h+',width='+w+',top='+wint+',left='+winl+',scrollbars='+scroll+',resizable'
win = window.open(mypage, myname, winprops)

if (parseInt(navigator.appVersion) >= 4) { win.window.focus(); }

}

This has been working perfectly ok on my laptop throughout the site until recently and still works perfectly ok on
My desktop.

Now however when this command is run on the laptop a window outline appears with the proportions of winprop, but with nothing in it and the returned win
Object is null. It matters very little what url or page I use. In fact the same result can be had when the URL is blank.  I’ve tried re-installing IE & IIS without success. This has suddenly occurred on the site it all pages so it is a system problem not the specific code. It appears as if my virtual root has in some way been corrupted

I’m running IIS on Windows XP professional on my laptop
And win 2000 server on the desktop.

I’ve possible done some damage to my registry. I’m not sure if the error appeared after I had installed
Office XP possibly though, but I’ve uninstalled this as well and still got the problem.

Thanks for any help

Regards

at the command prompt navigate to the following location and type:

WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework
\v1.0.370\aspnet_regiis.exe -i

This command should recalculate everything for iis.
