Sound settings cause framerate to become zero!

Hi,

I have a tricky issue with a flash movie which includes a loaded "sound.swf" file.
On most PCs and Macs it works fine. The main.swf and the sound.swf have the same framerate, and everything works smoothly.

However, on some PCs, potentially due to some odd sound settings, the moment you load the sound.swf, the framerate appears to drop to zero, because the movie stops. If you send the command stop(); to the sound.swf, then the main movie can carry on. If you send the play(); command to the sound.swf, the main movie stops again!

So the framerate of the main movie is inherited from the sound movie. If the PC can't handle the sound movie, then that framerate becomes apparently zero. Is there any way to stop this happening?

Any suggestions at all would be good...
