I have a function that backs up my database. It basically create new database and export all the tables, reports, etc to that new database. Now I dividate database and created front end and back end databases. How can I export back end databse as well. And another problem, how can I export menus and references from VBA.
In my function I am using DoCmd.CopyObject

I am using Access 2000.

Thank you

Schapopa,

A quick solution would be just to copy the .mdb files to your back-up location.

A freebee that will do this can be downloaded at:

Access 97 http://www.utteraccess.com/candace/candace/backup/autobkup.zip

OR

Access 2000
http://www.candace-tripp.com/download/autobkup2k.zip

Or if you prefer something a little more robust (I use this product) try: http://www.fmsinc.com/products/Agent/index.html

Hope this helps.

Have you thought about setting up a task that would automatically copy your front and back ends at some time for you.  I have my database backed up between 3 and 4 am, when no one is using it.  I created a simple bat file with copy commands, and then scheduled a task so that it would run every Mon-Fri.

I was thinking about that as a second backup - running bat file. (I actually got very usefull comments on that on EE)

I am writing database for somebody and he wants to see button with "backup" - and that should backup database.:))
I was also curious if it is possible to do that - to export back-end, references and menus.
