Socket Error # 10054 Connection reset by peer.

We are having a similar problem.  Our customers send in orders to a Server at Earthlink.
Every Morning a program we generated starts on our Server.  It opens an FTP connection
and downloads the Orders.  We have been doing this for about 3 years now.  But on 2/14/2003 we set up a Firewall (PIX 506).  Since then on an Intermittant basis, the program will stop and give the three messages.

"Socket Error# 10054"
"Connection Terminated Gracefully"
"Connection reset by Peer"

Our configuration is pretty basic, no thrills to it.
The access lists is basic too.
     We have just 4 access lists
            1 the implicit permit all on the inside
            2  permit a pcanywhere to one user on outside
            3 permit a pcanywhere to another user on outside
            4 the implicit deny all for everything else  on outside

Our Server is running WIN 2000 Server.

reset by peer means that ur client connected through..
and then the server just kind of reset/disc the connection
what does this mean.

Connection reset by peer.  just who is the peer?  is it Earthlink or is it the Firewall?

and exactly what is Socket Error # 10054
