Proxy server 2.0 & Kazaa
I'm trying to help a friend who has a bunch of machines network, connecting to the internet via what seems to be MS Proxy server 2.0. They can get to the internet fine, however when they try Kazaa nothing happens... just says it's connecting and never gets any further. I am no Proxy server expert and don't really know where to start. I tried to use the Proxy settings in Kazaa to point it to the proxy server, but that didn't seem to make any difference. I'm thinking I need to open 1214 on the proxy?? But not sure if this all I need to do, and how do I do it! Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Yes web browsing goes through port 80 which is enabled by default. If you want to use AOL, POP3 mail etc, you should load the client.
Have you tred just bypassing the proxy? in the clients IE settings on the connections tab click the LAN settings button, then the advanced button, put in the URL or IP address of kazaa then click apply and or OK,
You will need to close and restart IE, it might also be woth flushing the temporary Internet folder as well if it dosnt work straight away.
You may need to configure an outbound rule on the firewall to allow your users over tcp port eqal 80 to the Kazaa IP address
