The %ProgramFiles% directory variable

I know that in Win 2000 / XP there are a number of system path variables like %ProgramFiles%.  Is there any way to define your own?

Yes - you can define your own.

you can define them on a user by user basis (each time a user logs in), or for all users who login (system).

You can also define them in scripts, but these disappear when the cmd.exe window is closed.

Use "SetX" from the 2000 resource kit.

You can use it in a Logon Script or Batch file..

Download if free here:

Setx: Sets environmental variables in the the user or computer environment.
