Text Rotation Mirror Images

I am trying to come up with a table top display card in Crystal.  It is an 8.5X11 landscape sheet folded in half.  The sheet will have the name of the person.  If the sheet is folded in half, the name should be visible to the person and the people looking at the person from across the table.

Is there a way to rotate the text in crystal other than the 90 degrees and 270 degrees provided?  Is there a way to start text from right to left instead of left to right?

Thanks

Isn't this legible if it is facing the person.  You are not printing on clear plastic, right?  It seems that regular text when printedr would be legible...Am I missing something?

geoenvi,

If I understand you correctly, what you want is the name rotated 180 degrees on the top half of the landscape page, and not rotated at all on the bottom half. That way, when you fold the page in half lengthwise, the name will appear rightside up on each side of the fold.

Try this:

1.  First of all, keep the report in portrait orientation.

2.  Add a vertical guideline in the middle of the page. This will be at 4" if the left- and right-margins are set at 0.25" (File -> Page Setup).

3.  Add the name field to the details section twice -- once on the left side of the page, once on the right side.

4.  Rotate the name on the left 270 degrees; 90 degrees for the name on the right.

5.  Suppress all the header and footer sections.  (Either right-click on each section, choosing "Suppress (No Drill-Down)" each time, or use the Section Expert.)

6.  Open the Section Expert (Format -> Section  on the menu  OR  the Section Expert button on the toolbar).

7.  In the Section Expert, click on Details.

8.  In the list of options to the right, click on "New Page After".

9.  Click OK to close the Section Expert.

Now it's just a matter of expanding the Details section so it takes up the whole page and formatting the name fields (large font size, centered, etc.).

Hope this helps,
