asked on

pool memory drivers corrupted ??

A brief summary of what happened..

I was upgrading my old computer.. put in the new motherboard and found out I needed an ATX powersupply.. which i didnt have... soo I reinstalled my old motherboard... put all my pci cards back in.. booted up and everything was ok .. for a couple of days..

i got an error...

the computer would boot up to where it verifys "DMI pool DATA"  then I get an error...
INVALID DISK ERROR, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

Soo I put in my XP cd.. went into recovery console.. did

chkdsk / p
chkdsk /r

it went through /p no problem
went through /r had a couple of bad sectors

I didnt think would be an issue..

so I tried running a repair of XP

I hit enter to enter setup... while it is entering.. an erros screen pops up....

driver corrupted pool memory used for holding pages destined for disk.

STOP: 0x000000DE
(0x00000002, 0ex1193dao,0xe1193dao,0x044848c0)

Have I missed something.. why would it be a driver issue..?? would it because I may have placed the cards in different slots ?? I dont think this would matter... would it ??

Thanks

Have you installed any new drivers? Read this it may be indirectly related to your problem:

http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hwdev/driver/lowpoolmem.mspx

You may have to run a system restore to get back to a point prior to installing the driver (if that turns out to be the culprit).

THanks for the response...

I'll try clearing the CMOS.. and will double check my memory again.. (only one stick) I'm not at home .. at the moment.. will give this a try and post again tommorrow..

Thanks
Go to BIOS and set boot sequence properly (A - C - SCI ...)
Or if you are new at this set "load setup defaults" and save to CMOS.
Sorry for the long wait..

followed what Dennis said... it yup he was right on the money..

Thanks to everyone else !!
Glad I could help!
