I get the error Rep-3002 : Error initializing Printer inspite of having installed a printer in my web server(9iAS)

I am trying to run a report through form using the run product built in.My form is executed through the web.I am using Oracle 9iAs as my web server. I have installed a printer in the server and have given the necessary rights for accessing the printer. Inspite of it I get the message REP:3002- Error initializing printer. What should I do?

On Windows NT, if user A creates the printer and user B starts the forms listener process, then the printer is not available to user B by default.
Even though you have  printer installed check whether the user used to start the Reports Server has access to a printer. You might have logged on to your system as a user who has access to  printer, but the user starting Reports Server might not have a printer which is accessible
I also faced this problem before and the reason is the printer added to my Windows XP didnt connect to the network printer.

May be you can check your printer status by go to Printers in Control Panel.

If the status is 'Unable to connect to network printer....', may be you have to delete that printer installed in your PC.
then add in the same printer again without connect to the network.

After that, you go to Printer properties, Select Port and add in new port.

This solution solved my problem but I am not sure this will solve your problem or not.

Hope this can help you.  Good Luck.

Thank You Kuljeetsingh. Your answer was almost the same as we did today. We had started a few ora services.
I shall post the details of the same later in this area.
I guess my comment was treated as a "COMMENT" and not a "ANSWER".
This ended up being a citrix issue, apparently there were some problems with citrix pulling users default printer. ( It usually is the simple things that you overlook )

Thank you
