RPC Service Terminated Unexpectedly
I get the following message on my xp home edition computer. "The system is shutting down. Initiated by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. REMOTE PROCEEDURE CALL SERVICE TERMINATED UNEXPECTEDLY." Not yet sure, but it may only happen when I start my JUNO web browser.
I recently installed a printer. Could it be related to this?? I think the web browser is the more likely culprit.
For another 30 points, also see another user's related question under the category: WINDOWS NT NETWORKING titled, "REMOTE PROCEEDURE CALL SERVICE TERMINATED UNEXPECTEDLY" Unlike me, they're networking.

I forgot to mention do this first
Start > Run services
Double Click on Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
Click the Recovery tab
Set all three failure boxes to "Take No Action"
Then open the task manager and under the pocesses tab look for msblaster.exe and if you find it end the task then run the removal tool and then apply the patch.
