Hard Disk (IDE) Serial with Windows Server 2003 (SCSI Backdoor problem).

Hi,

I need the Hard Disk Serial Number Information. I use DiskId32 (http://www.winsim.com/diskid32/diskid32.html) to get this information.
From Windows 95 to Windows XP everything is ok.
Windows 2003 returns 0 if the user is not Administrator.
Diskid32 uses the SCSI backdoor to obtain the IDE serial number.
Someone knows if Windows 2003 "closes" this backdoor?
What`s the solution to get the Hard Disk Serial Number (not volume number!) using Windows 2003 when the user is not Admin?

Thanks!!

I'm very sorry, you're right WMI doesn't give you the manufacturer's serial number, but this tiny and free OCX can:
