You could have a XMLHttp timer request polling the server transparent to the user.
<meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="5; URL=http://www.server.com">

If you insert meta-refresh tag, it will be refresh without events on the server.
You need some communication between server and client. Use javascript with timer to change src of one js file, and if you are ready with the table in SQL, then change js file with source to reload page.
