I am using Windows 2000 Server with Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. I can see Exchange Server has SMTP Connectors. I saw some Internet sites that are selling POP3 Connectors software modules. I wonder what POP3 connectors exactly doing? Do I need them for my Exchange Server?

Volga, whether you need this or not depends on what you or your comapny want to do. Check out the following link for info. on the POP3 Connector:

Hope this helps.

A POP3 connector downloads mail from a single POP3 mailbox and sends to exchange to be distrubuted to local users. Some can also download from multiple POP3 mailboxes and route all mail to specific users.

You'd normally use a POP3 connector where you don't have a statip IP address for your exchange server, therefore making it difficult to receive mail directly via SMTP.
