I need to install this version on a Windows XP machine.
However, XP tells me: "Lotus Notes v5.x installs an older version of MSGINA which controls..." etc.

The Details button just point to www.ibm.com.

How do I proceed? Is it possible do download anything that will help me with this from ibm.com?

Just browsed 1000 docs here on Exp-Exch - but didn't find this problem - I would have thought this would be a common problem?

Anyway - any help is appreciated - need to fix this - if possible - without buying more Notes stuff...

Thanks.

Partha.. Anyway Notes 5.0.6 does not run properly on XP. It is not supported

Commented:
Partha is correct.  Do not install single sign on, and you should be OK.

Hemantha is sort of correct.  It is not supported... but the reason it is not supported is BECAUSE the single sign on does not work correctly.  I am unaware of any other compatibility issues.

As I've said many times before, Mot Supported IS NOT the same as Does Not Work.  Not Supoprted usually measn "will work but we either know of a few issues, or we're just not sure."

Go for it.
Partha you're correct.
Notes Single Client Logon service being incompatible with the MSGINA.DLL file installed with Windows XP, that's why it throws up this error. However, if Single sign on feature is disabled and installed, the software should get installed on Windows XP.
