I've been assigned a project to run a simulation on C, to evaluate the Packet Loss and Delay Performance of an Arrayed Waveguide Grating Optical Packet Switch.. Has any1 seen or heard of the algorithm for this?

The requirements are:
1. Packets needs to be randomly generated on each of the switch input and buffered in the delay lines, according to their timeslot,
2. at a particular timeslot only the specified channels can exist, at a time, and hence the remaining packets need to be buffered, if the buffers are full then these packets are lost
3. If the particular output is occupied at a timeslot, then the delay of the packet increases..

Hence the parameters need to be tested for priority routing, self-similar traffic, and under different delay progression.
The simulation should be done under uniform, bursty and exponential traffic..
