Hi NicBrey,
The pc is running the MS Windows XP Professional and the server is a Windows 2000 server. What happens is I can access the server as a client (on this pc) but cannot access my files (that are in the pc's hard drive). In order for me to access the hard drive I have to log onto the pc as if it is a standalone machine. Now that the pc is connected to the network I want services from the server (my user account has been created already) and I need the files stored in the hard drive of my pc. I do not want to log onto the pc at one time and log onto the server at some other time.
Hope this will help you give me the help I need.

You need to give a little more information than this. What server is it that you want to access (if it is a Windows server, is it on a domain , ie a domain controller), and what operating system is on your PC?
Normally you would have to change your IP address to be on the network, or if there is a DHCP server set it to automatically grab an IP address from the network. Then you'll have to change your network logon type to fit the server that you want to access.
Please give more detailed information about the network...
