Emergency! Help!! My computer crashed.
I put my computer in a hybernate mode last night and now it crashed.
It won't even boot.
The hard drive light below the power button came on.
Is that a hard drive problem?
Now I'm looking at just a black screen with a couple of thick lines.
I don't know what to do here. I don't have a backup for all my work.
Is it time to throw this away? I bought this only a year and a half ago. (non brand computer)
Please somebody help me.

a) keyboard lights doesn't come on
b)There are couple of thick streaks on the left side of the screen.
c)The floppy light didn't come on.
d)There is no sound.
As soon as I press the power button, the computer seems to power up, but the doesn't do anything except the hard drive light (orange instead of green) on the tower comes on.

Since the Power On Self Test (POST) is not showing signs of working, the possible problems are:
1) Your power supply (low voltage?)
1- try another power supply.
2) Your motherboard
2- Pull your HD and put it in another system.
2- One that can read your file system (FAT/NTFS).
2- and see if you can recover.
3) Your CPU
3- You can try this CPU on another MB.
3- It's possible that you fry the other MB also.
4) Your BIOS chip is bad - if it can be pulled you can plug it into another MB to test.... it will be weird but you can test to see if the BIOS is still there.

you're welcome sujeong95. Hopefully it doesn't happen again, if it does, it's a symptom of a problem possibly with your O/S configuration or you system.
Try another monitor....
What did your computer do when it come on - did it perform a POST?
a) Did the keyboard lights came on?
b) Anything on the screen?
c) did the floppy light come on?
d) any sound (beep)?
Give us move clues - we can't see what's happening.
