I have a problem where whenever i install a new program on my XP machine, everything shows up in Japanese. This wouldnt be a problem for me but, i need to make screen shot turtorials in enlish and i need the menu's to show up in English.

Nope it's Windows XP OEM english. My language bar is set to english but the menu is comming up in Japanese. (only for Nero).
The rest of the menu's are in english. It's funny because some programs will install fine in english but for some reason some will install in Japanese.
There must be something that is telling it to do that.
Should i try deleting that laguage option?

Go to control panel --> regional and language settings and check all the menus and options if japanese has been selected anywhere ..

I checked that already
Maybe English is your default language, but some programs havn't got an English version available and the next most suitable language it picks is Japanese. I know thats not too likely, but it may be the case. Also try downloading all the available updates, that could fix the problem.

I uninstalled the Japanese Language pack and disabled the language settings to only English, but it still installs everything in Japanese.
If you are using English XP but Nero is getting instaled in Japanese than this is your current situation:
Start > Control panel > Reginal and language options > Advanced " Language for non-unicode programs" = Japanese.
Please make " Language for non-unicode programs" = English and your problem is solved.
This is the solution of your problem. Now my probem is I need NERO to show me English menus. Where I can set it in XP? If I chnage " Language for non-unicode programs" = English, I have other Japanese related problem becoz I want to use Japanese too much in my English PC.

Hope you must have got the japanese version of XP .. Also are you installing programs in English but still coming in Japanese ?
