Is there only one record?

Is it on the same form?

It may be.  I check into it.

yes this will be on all the forms. I will have several records(pages) there will be more than one record on a form. We can call the field (Material1) for naming purposes.

I can't do it in CR8.  It may be possible in CR9 but I don't have CR9 to try with.

On the form with the viewer try to create the code.
From the code page
Select the objects and see if any of the have the event you need.
If it is possible, I suspect your code is close.

frm_form1.lblMaterial.caption = CrRpt.fields({Material1}).text
or maybe
frm_form1.lblMaterial.caption = {Material1}
