How can I create word-wrap in a field?

In a view, I have a field with comments.
Is there a way to make the filed word-wrap while in the view.
In other words, when the user opens the view, can the comments
   field be totally in view without opening the document?

SOrt of.  Open the view using Designer.
Menu DESIGN -> VIEW PROPERTIES
Go to the third tab (in R5)
Change the lines per row setting to 9, and activate shrink to fit content
