Manage Internet Explorer 6 Security Settings Via Win 2k Group Policy?

Can anyone inform me how to go about managing IE 6 security settings via group policy? The specific setting I NEED to change is within Security Settings - Custom Level - Miscellaneous - Display mixed content - to enabled. I was hoping I could find an adm template to work with but at this time cannot locate one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and awarded!

Hi, rrose987,

Have you try "Internet Explorer Administration Kit" (IEAK)?  This program may solve your problem.

Hope this help!

Do you know if you can deploy IE 6 SP1 with MS SUS server? I look in the updates and cannot find the package, just cumulative updates.

I have never worked with the IEAK 6 tool and it is rather in-depth. How do you go about pushing a package to users with this tool? I tried but could not continue due to permissions. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi, rrose987,

Here is the IEAK help site if you still want to use IEAK 6.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ieak/techinfo/deploy/60/en/

Follow these guideline to use via Group Policy:
1. Under User Configuration/Windows Settings/Internet Explorer Maintenance
you will see numbers of folders within, such as Browser User Interface, Connection, URLs, Security, and Programs
2.  Look into Security, on the right-hand panel you see Security Zone and Content Rates, double-click on it
3.  For Security Zones Customize, click "Import..." option and click Modify Settings
4.  You should see simliar screen you saw in your IE options.
5.  For other IE customizations, look into rest of the folder under Internet Explorer Maintenance

Hopefully this help!
