Can Windows 2000 Professional be considered a 24/7 Operating System?

I need to evaluate Windows 2000 professional as a high availability OS ( 24/7 operation required) and if necessary, recommend alternative OS choices to run on a Intel Pentium processor. Assuming hardware safeguards are sufficiently met, Can Windows 2000 Professional be counted on to provide 24/7 service?

What is the OS of choice for mission critical applications such as in Banks and other Financial institutions. I am limited to consider OS candidates supported on Intel procesors only?

Yep. There is no Windows version one can say that it is 24/7. One reason why is because when you intall Window updates it tends to require a reboot. Lots a places have more then one machine running so if one has to go to down the other will pick up the load. Win2000 and Win2003 are reasonably stable and I have ran on a test machine Win2000 for like monhts before something happened that required the machine to shutdown.

I will accept it.  This is the best answer I have got so far.
