Flash movie continues to download after Window close

I have a website with Flash which opens "mini-movie" browser windows with a slide show and narration audio.

  http://www.explore-stpauls.net

If I close one of these windows while it is loading, the movie continues to load on my Windows XP with IE.

The movie does NOT continue to load on the Mac OSX with IE or Safari.

1) Is this a Flash or a Windows XP problem, and

2) I really need to have the Flash stop downloading when the browser window is closed.

Help!
