enumerating files and directories on website

Hi.

I'd like to enumerate files and directories on website but not using ftp (wininet). The best would be to enumerate  this files using http (wininet) or something similar(like "Getright" programm) but without logging to this site using ftp.

thank you in advance

Depends on the server software you're using and the security that's set up on it. In general, it is impossible to browse folders on a webserver, mainly because of security reasons. Webhosts don't want to easily give away their folder structure. You could however download the main page and crawl through it in search for links to other files and folders on the same page. This is the technique used in general by search engines and webspiders.

However, if you are in control over the webserver then you could create a server-side application that walks through the files and folders for you. If the server is a W2K or better system then by using SOAP it would even be quite simple to implement a browse application. But perhaps by using Java or other server-side development language you could build something similar.

FTP is the protocol to use to browse files and folders. HTTP is for browsing webpages, not files.
