Event Id: 1008 Error

I get the following error in my event log every 30 seconds:

The Open Procedure for service "NwlnkNb" in DLL "C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\perfctrs.dll" failed.  Performance data for this service will not be available. Status code  returned is data DWORD 0.

Event Id: 1008

Please advise.
