After learning a basics of Windows sockets I want to see how to do a real things. I am looking for a good sample of chat program working in LAN (client + server). After scanning of MSDN samples, CodeProject and CodeGuru I didn't found the program I want. My requirements are:
1) Multithreading, asynchronous I/O
2) Using raw sockets API or CAsyncSocket MFC class (no CSocket)
3) No blocking calls in main thread, UI is always responsive - as it is done in the real program, and not in the beginner samples.

I hope somebody can give a link to such sample. Thanks.

Check the CHATTER/CHATSRVR sample available in MSDN. I personally started learning with this sample.

check http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/vcsample98/html/_sample_mfc_chatsrvr.asp for more information about the sample.
