Speeding up roaming profiles

I would like to know how you can cut down on the time taken to login and out when roaming profiles are being used in Windows 2000

I have found advise about a registry hack for Windows NT that advised excluding folders etc.   but that referred to a key in the Winlogon folder which I don't appear to have in the Windows folder.

Any ideas on this or other ways to speed up the process?

Thanks

Store as little as possilbe in the profile i.e. don't save files to the dekstop, make sure Temporary Internet Files are stored outside of the profile

It's also useful to map user directories to U: and store all Outlook Express or Outlook.pst files there. And another thing is, when you rightclick on My Documents link on desktop, choose properties, and change target folder location to ... example U:\My Documents
