I am trying to write a program that gets input from a mcrophone.  How can I access inputs from the sound card using Visual C++?  If there are different ways of doing this in Windows, what are the advantages of one approach over the other?  References to documentations, sample codes, or tutorials would be appreciated.

Thanks!
