I just installed few component packages and after adding them to Environment>LibPaths,
when open a new project it will not compile = "System.pas not found.."

I am using D6. ..\Source\rtl\sys is in the lib path but it still complains...
What happened?

I've had this problem in the past, but unfortunately I can't remember exactly what I did to correct it.

I think it had to do with the path environment variable. Otherwise, you may want to check that your disk is clean (run chkdsk or similar). I had a problem in the past where my ..\lib directory was completely messed up. I copied the ..\lib directory (where system.dcu is located) from another computer (after doing a chkdsk) and it solved to problem. (but again I can't remember if this was the same problem you are having). Also, try checking the project options compiler switch for using Debug DCU's.

I installed the latest (6.0.12) ZEOS library and added source subfolders to the search path, and that turned out to ne the problem. You mentioned DCUs and that gave me a hint to add \packages folder to the search path instaed of source files. It is OK now.
