Yeah, I noticed that each time I work a new set of questions I travel backward over fewer questions (2100 to 1700 in about a month). Progress is being made.

Before I forget Annie, just a question

I found a question yesterday, lets say it was from Aug 20 (I'm not sure about the dates, so they are aproximate)

It had the usual discussion, comments by users, comments by the asker

I guess that the discussion in the question was finished, but lets say 2 weeks ago, one message was posted (kind of indicating another solution), and after that, one message from one of the users answering that question saying something like

"So, can we close this question now?"

I guess that  both comments shouldn't be taken into account.
I mean, one comes after 4 months with no activity in the question (what good can it make to the asker?) and the other is a claim for the question to be closed.

I sincerely do not remember which the question was (and as told before the dates are not accurate, are aproximate). I'm at work now, so I dont have the list with that question, but it is the only one for which I didnt post anything (If you want to, I can post the link when I return home).

I left that question with no recommendation as comments have been made in the last 3 weeks, but if you want me to make something different, please let me know.

May I override the 21 day no comment period as it is an administrative comment?

So just to make it clear.......

Cleanup ranges have been finished, and there will be no more ranges to handle.

However, I'll be checking every 4 o 5 days, all questions that have been abandoned and closing them up in the usual way.
I'll continue posting this cleanup list as usual so that all abandoned questions are paqed.
(In a few words it would be something like cleanup maintenance).

I hope I have understood right.

If this is the case, don't worry......... the C++ area will remain as clean as............. I can't think of anything right now, but it will be very clean ;).

I'll just ask you to confirm that I have understood right the proceedings and I'll handle it.

Just a question......... Suppose that a thread contains the usual question/answer/question/answer comments, which ended lets say 35 days ago, but 15 days ago, one of the experts answering the question, posts a comment saying something like

"Ok, so can we close this thread now?"

I should be cleaning it up, as the comment that is from less that 21 days is just a requesto to close the question, shouldn't I?

I finally have to admit the truth. I had hoped to finish October today but I am going to be in the office all day. It has taken me too long to get through the 21st; please reassign the rest of the month to someone else so that it gets cleaned up.

My apologies. I will still hang out here and if you need a hand on any topic area just ask and I will respond (assuming this product really goes out the door on time).

I asked you because of 2 questions up there and was wondering what happened with that, as the same happened with other questions. I guess that if you look up in the last questions in the area you'll find many with this problem.

Should I make recommendations again?

I had to go on a work trip on saturday and I'll be out of town for about two weeks. I don't think that I'll be able to make any cleanup in the mean time but I expect to catch up when I get back.
I don't think that this would be a problem given the fact that this area is very clean.

However, if you feel that cleanup is really needed and can't wait that long feel free to assign the duty to another one.

Sorry to tell you with such short time, but it was impossible for me to do so earlier.

PS: Last time I saw, the oldest questions in the area all of them have recommendation and haven't been closed, so I guess that there you could have an extra ones.
