*** Cleanup volunteers needed (Apache) ***

Apache experts,

At the moment I write this message, we have 754 open questions in this area and the oldest ones are from September 2000. So it is high time to close all these old questions.

So we search experts that:
- experts in this area just to be sure you are familiar with the questions you will have to close
- active in the last 3 months - you can be great expert but if in the last 3 months you have at all 10 comments that means you have no time...
- have some time and want to help.

If you fit in the above, please read:

https://www.experts-exchange.com/help.jsp#hs7

If after reading it, you are still interested in helping please post here and I will assign you a range to work on.
If you have any questions, please ask.

Thank you very much for the help.

Hi,

I'm ready to help.

AnnieMod -

I'd be willing to help as well, providing that the load and timelines aren't too stringent.  I've read the instructions, and believe that I understand them.
AnnieMod -

I'm willing to try 40-50 questions per week - I assume that my resignation would be taken gracefully if I find that this is not a duty I can accomodate?
Ok,

i have no questions. can you assign me a range ?

david
Thanks AnnieMod - I'll give it a look this evening.
AnnieMod -

One question - should all 54 be in the same posting in the cleanup area, or can they be split into a couple of postings, if I have, for instance time to do half at a time?
AnnieMod -

Thanks for the clarification :)
i wish i could help.  but i think there is plenty of pending question, and I happens to be in the waiting list to get the pts too...that would make me a bit bias in closing them.

do any of you take bribe:)  -- just kidding.
samri - I'm sure that AnnieMod will clarify (AnnieMod - not trying to answer in your place), but neither you nor I are in the running for most of the very old questions (which is where we start - and there's more than plenty to go around).

Additionally, according to the cleanup rules, you can either skip the questions that you'd recommend for yourself, or you could still suggest yourself as the answerer.  Everyone has 7 days to object - and the moderator makes the final decision, not you.

Question for clarification:

When whould Delete/No Refund be selected over Delete?  Am I correct that if it is unclear that the user's question has been answered, experts have responded, but the user has never given the extra information that it is a good case for Delete/No Refund, or should these be just simply Delete?
Anniemod - assignment completed - I can take about 50 a week, that should be fine.
Thanks AnnieMod for all the clarifications -

I'll make certain to put in the refund/norefund this time around now that I understand a little better!
AnnieMod -

You might want to suggest that they modify the cleanup FAQ so that under the section marked 'The Options', it says Delete/Refund instead of just Delete, and that it includes your clarification of what Delete/Refund is - that helps immensely!

I would also recommend changing the recommended comment so that it says the following (to correct the grammar to match the allowed options):

I will leave a recommendation in the Cleanup topic area with the following recommendation for this question:

Assignment completed
Hi AnnieMod - of course!  It's a good break from the regular work<G>
Apology all.  Been so busy lately...  (that show how reliable I am :(

I think I'll stick to giving recommendation in closing a question (as for now!).

cheers.
AnnieMod - I apologize - things got a bit busy.  I'm getting back to clean up now.
AnnieMod,

Still around!  Work just getting extra around here (or it's just me complaining ;p)

Hi AnnieMod - sounds good - I did make progress on the last list;  I'll have to check where I left off.
Hi AnnieMod -

I'm a bit confused -- I thought with the PageEditor system that the cleanup volunteers were no longer needed?
D'oh - sorry for the confusion.  Workload this week is high - but I can take 20 or so if that helps.
Next week should be much, much better - thanks, I'll wait.
Hi Annie -

Sorry - it's been busy for me lately, too.  Yes, I still want to help, in smaller doses (say, 15-25 at a time) - would that still be a help?
Thanks - will do.  I'll check the latest information on the cleanup as well :)  It's been a while...
seems straight forward enough :)  Can you tell me how to manufacture more hours in the day? ;)
Annie -

I notice that our fast-moving cleanup volunteer uses:

This question has been classified as abandoned.  I will make a recommendation to the moderators on its resolution in 4 days.  I would appreciate any comments by the experts that would help me in making a recommendation.

It is assumed that any participant not responding to this request is no longer interested in its final disposition.

If the asker does not know how to close the question, the options are here:
https://www.experts-exchange.com/help.jsp#hs5

If this is used, then what recommendation is made in cleanup?
Also, what is the 'FASTCAT FORMAT' that I see at the bottom of many of the cleanup lists in the cleanup TA?  Is this generated through some software that makes life easier?
Thanks for the answers on FastCat, and the CD& option :)  I just was never quite certain how it worked.

One last question... if in the course of reviewing a question, I believe that I know a better solution than has been provided, should I post it?  Or should I just handle the question 'as is'?
Thanks again :)
Annie -

One last note - I'm going to be out of town (and with very limited computer access) for August 15-30;  I'm trying to clear up as much of April and May 2004 before I leave, but if there is a 'break' between my posts, that's why.
April 2004 is finished;  I'll work on May over the next few days.
Note: skipped the following question(s) due to self-participation:

http:Q_20902614.html
Ack, I just realized, that I'm processing March, not May - my mistake.  I'll finish it up, if that's ok.
I'm really sorry;  I posted as soon as I noticed.  Perhaps I'm not the correct person to be assisting you folks.  I'm happy to be helping out, but if I'm causing more work than help, then it's not worth it for you.
I think I just really need that vacation that's coming up... no more mistakes.  Will finish March and May 2004 by tomorrow.
Skipped (due to self participation):

Q_20977102.html
Q_20985165.html
Thanks Annie -

Assignment complete - March, April, May 2004 done (except for the handful that I participated in).

Now, it's time for me to get the clients happy before vacation - whoohoo!

While I might have a few minutes here and there on vacation, I'm concerned about holding up the process ... if you have 'low priority' clearing, feel free to assign them to me... or would it just be better for me to check back in September?
Got it - it may be a few days before I start posting again (due to travel), but I'll be happy to take those.
Annie -

Generally, if I feel it's clearcut (and if it isn't to recommend me), I make the recommendations on the ones that I'm involved in - somehow, when I'm working as the cleanup volunteer, it doesn't seem right to recommend myself. (Never mind that I do recommend myself at times when someone else is the cleanup volunteer... ack, I need that vacation!)

(P.S. Is this the best contact method - i.e. posting via a topic, or should I be emailing you at AnnieMod@experts-exchange.com ?  I hate to be boring everyone with my saga of learning to be a cleanup volunteer).
