Windows Media Problem

When I try to play a .wav file in WMP 9 I get an error -The audio codec identified by the format tag 17 is required to play this file. To determine if this codec is available to download from the Web, click Web Help.
However when I try to play this same file on another pc with WMP9 it plays fine. What could be the problem? Two identical pcs - running Win2k Service Pack4. ANY IDEAS???

WMP 9 should have ability to play WAV files , so why don't you try reinstalling WMP ?
