I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

3. How do I setup my server behind a firewall?

If you do want your server to be listed in Gamespy you will need a number of additional ports opened up:

allow udp port 14567
allow udp 22000 (THIS IS ONLY FOR LAN GAMES. If you don't want that accessible from the net, don't open it)
allow udp range 23000 23009
# Gamespy Master Server UDP Heartbeat allow udp port 27900
# Gamespy Master Server List Request allow tcp port 28900

In addition you may or may not :) need to open the ports listed in the "Working Around the Firewall / Proxy" section of this Gamespy page: http://www.gamespyarcade.com/support/firewalls.shtml

Thanks for the help, since i knew that it was the right port i was able to find my problem... for anyone else that reads this and has the same problem, for people to join my game they need to join my server by entering my WAN IP not my LAN IP (which is also the one that shows up in game) so it forwarded them to my server, if they dont know your WAN IP they cant join your game since it dont show up in the search for servers to join.

Thanks again speyfisher
