When i got to the shadow copy tab this is all i get.....

Initialization failed
Error 0x80070424: The specified service does not exist as an installed service

i was handed this job from my Boss who could not get shadow copy to work right (he might get paid more then me but he   is not that smart) so i really dont know what he did to acheive this or where to go from here

2003 server  C: drive is or system drive
D: drive is user files 150 gig
F: drive is empty      160 gig
i want to shadow the D drive to the F drive but if you click any drive and go to the shadow tab you get the error

yes it is true that you shadow folders however the problem is that the service no longer seems to be installed on the server

i do not need to know how to configure shadow copy at this point
what i need to know is how to reinstall it????? restore it??? restart the service????

the error says

 Initialization failed
Error 0x80070424: The specified service does not exist as an installed service

Well, as a last resort I guess you could try and run a repair or reinstall of the OS, is the server in production yet?
