PCAnywhere connection fails

I'm having problems connecting to a remote pc running win XP. I can connect to 1 pc at a different location, but unable to connect to a pc right next to me. All pcs are running Win XP. The message I receive says " Unable to attach to specified device" I am on a public IP so is the pc next to me.

the pc at the other location is on a private IP. Any help would be greatful

Thanks for the help, but I figured it out. I didn't have the host running on the 2 pcs. I wiil award you the points for your time.
