Harddisk Write protected.

Hi Experts,

maybe this isn't the right place to ask this question, but I couldn't find any beter topic.

I like to make my harddisk writeprotect (hardware adjustment). I realy dont know if that is possible, but'I'm almost sure that cutting the right wire from a flatcable will do it, or are there other options?

On the IDE cable, PIN 23:

_DIOW   |  23  |  23  |  Drive I/O write

If this line is cut on the cable, the drive is READ/ONLY.  Full interface pinout is at:
