Deleting all contacts and calendar items in a pst file

Without losing other data and settings in an Outlook 2000 pst file, how can I delete all of the items in the contacts and calendar subfolders [other one by one].

I want to do this as a way of resynchronizing desktop with PDA by deleting and reinstalling a new partnership [after failure of active synch], without danger of excessive dupes which has ocurred when I've tried this method in the past.

I have a backup of these two folders made with export-import for recovery in case the cure is worse than the problem.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Within each folder.

1. Click Ctrl + A (select all)
2. Hit Delete

For the Calendar folder you'll want to first switch to a table view (like By Category) and then perform the selection and deletion.
