Is there anyway to see which process is using the CPU on a Win98 machine. In XP Task manager allows you to see what is using the CPU. aTaskManger for Win98 shows just like XPs taskmanager except for which process is currently using the CPU. WinTasks pro shows everything but program specific CPU usage. I have a computer that is using the CPU at 70% at rest. Need to know what is causing the activity. Have done all the obvious... AdAware, Spybot, close all unnecessary programs in the start menu, shut down in realtime all unnecessary task list item... still keep chugging away at 70%. It does seem to give way to other activity as witnessed by moving the mouse on the desktop, which send the cpu activity to below 5%.
What I need to do is observe (as XP allows me to do) which process is causing the cpu activity. I am beginning to think that is not possible.
Any ideas? Thanks.
