Combobox - Easy Question

Hey folks...
very simple really... i just need my combobox to automatically display the first item in its list as its default position. Iv fiddled with things, but for some reason i cant get it to work... any ideas?

somewhere after populating  the combobox
(maybe in the formcreate-event) use

combox.itemindex := 0;
