When a new user logs in window throws "Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you on with the default profile for the system." error

Hi,

I'm seeing this behavior on my Laptop running under Windows 2000 Professional.

I'm able to access "administrator" profile without any problem. But if I create any new profile say "test" and login as "test" then windows throws error "Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you on with the default profile for the system.". This is seen only for the first time, from next time user doesn't see any error and logs in peacefully.

Though new user has "administrator" privileges, user cannot store his IE options (ex home page etc). And also some other s/w won't function as expected. I guess there is something going wrong with the registry. (Tried regClean but no use)

Can anybody help me!.

Regards
Ramesh

Hi

I got it solved after hours of searching on the net.

I copied the profile of an "existing" user's profile (new user wont work) to a new user and everything seems to be working fine. So far so good.

I appreciate your help.

Thank you
Ramesh
