Internal/External DVD Rom

If i hook an internal DVD ROM drive up to one of those nifty little External IDE kits (via USB) is the USB connection fast enough to watch DVD movies at DVD quality???

Been there, done that with them.  And they usually work fine for me.  I use a USB 2.0 External Enclosure.  Mine is actually a cheappy generic 2.0 USB enclosure.  Dual bay.  I run a CDRW and a DVD rom in it, so I could move it between both machines at work.  For Testing purposes.  Firewire may be a better alternative if you have a slower machine that may not keep up.  Since Firewire is a tad bit more stable and faster than USB.
