I would try moving the /sw folder to the desktop, then install fink, then install virex. That way you haven't deleted anyhting - in case you need to go back.

hi ljf1999,
I've first moved the /sw folder to the trash and executed the fink installer. After the fink is installed, i've installed the lynx and pine. Does that mean my Fink is fully functionable and there is no problem existed whatsoever?
thank you

If fink can install without errors, I say you are good to go.

I've just updated to 10.2.8 as you said. So, do i have to first remove the sw directory as ljf1999 said before i install the fink?
thank you

hi ljf1999,
>>one is the first OS X version of virex. Are you running Virex by chance?
Yes indeed, i do have the Virex installed since November last year, i think it was version 7.0 or some like that. I'm using 7.2 now.
So, what should i do now? Install Virex again or?
thank you
