How do you switch from Outlook Express to Outlook

A user that I am working with has installed MS office 2000 and is presently using outlook Express for his email. If we wish to change it from Outlook Express to Outlook, how would we do this?   If it is too lenghthy to list an answer here please tell me a reference to go to.

you must run outlook express  
take File --> export
there you can choose where und how!!

You shouldn't need to export any information from Outlook Express first.

If you open Outlook and go to File > "Import and Export", you should be able to import directly from Outlook Express. You'll need to choose folders for each import to dump to (Contacts for persons, Inbox for Inbox -- most of it is identical to Outlook Express), and then complete the wizard. All contacts and emails should be imported automatically. This is the same wizard that is invoked when Outlook is first installed and Office prompts the user to upgrade to the full Outlook client from Outlook Express.
