Search within inbox does not bring up all instances

I have one user who is not able to do a search within her email properly.  Search by keyword does not bring up anything (or not all instances) even though there are multiple emails with the keyword in her inbox.

When I open her mail file from my computer it does the same thing so it is not client settings as I am able to search my email correctly.

We are using Domino server R5, mail file is R5, and Lotus Notes 6 clients.

Please advise.

Try rebuilding the full text index (if you have one).

Is this for web  or notes ?

Also try setting Max Results to 500 and see if it fixes her problem

Why are you using R6 clients on an R5 server ?

Grly,
Check teh status bar to see how many documents it actually found.  If it is reporting a number that is smaller than teh ocunt you know should be there, then the problem is with the SEARCH RETRIEVAL.  If the number is correct, then it is a problem with SEARCH RESULTS.

SEARCH RESULTS problem:
There has been a bug on and off again in teh Notes client where it would not display all the results it found.  Usually, you can fix this by doing the search, clicking in a different folder, then clicking back in onbox, and then clikcing the Search button again.

SEARCH RETRIEVAL problem:
First, check the maximum results parameter to see if you set it to low (default is 250 maximum search results).

Next, update the full text index, and try the search again after it cmpletes.  You can look at full text properties, and get a count of unindexed documents.

Finally, if that does not work, delete the index, then create it again.

Note: Server indexes normally update by themselves.  Client indexes do not, though you can use a scheduled agent as a workaround.
